RENOVA FOUNDATION AND GESTEIRA FAMILIES SIGNED NINE MORE AGREEMENTS FOR FAMILY RESETTLEMENT
The Renova Foundation presented a proposal and signed new agreements with nine additional households in Gesteira (MG) through the right-to-housing reparation model, also known as family resettlement. The district, which is part of the municipality of Barra Longa (MG) in Minas Gerais, was one of those affected by the Fundao dam collapse.
IN 40 DAYS, THE SIMPLIFIED INDEMNITY SYSTEM DOUBLES THE NUMBER OF PAYMENTS AND REACHES 10 THOUSAND PEOPLE
The number of people indemnified through the Simplified Indemnity System reached 10,000 payments, totaling about R$ 900 million in indemnities. By the beginning of February, 5,000 payments had been made, reaching approximately R$ 400 million.
PROJECTS APPROVED IN THE DOCE RFP START THEIR ACTIVITIES
From December 2020 to February 2021, 75 projects from the Doce RFP received approval to start their activities in the municipalities of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo. The RFP approved a total of 228 projects aimed at supporting tourism, culture, sports, and recreation.
3 THOUSAND AGREEMENTS HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED THROUGH THE SIMPLIFIED INDEMNITY SYSTEM IN ONE MONTH, AND OVER 8 THOUSAND SINCE ITS IMPLEMENTATION
The Simplified Indemnity System surpassed the mark of 8 thousand accepted agreements. In early February, 5,000 people were indemnified, and the amount disbursed was around R$ 450 million. In the first week of March, around 2,300 signed agreements were sent for approval.
INCOME STATEMENTS OF THOSE AFFECTED IS NOW AVAILABLE ON THE RENOVA FOUNDATION WEBSITE
The Renova Foundation also sent the Income Statements by mail. They contain information regarding payments in 2020 made through the Mediated Indemnity Program (PIM), Emergency Financial Aid (AFE), and Simplified Indemnity System. This data must be provided in the income tax return.
