Students of the courses of Civil Engineering and Tourism Management of PUC-Minas come up with suggestions for the generation of jobs and income in the district
A tourism agency, a product fair and a memorial museum, all managed by the community itself. These are some ideas from students of the Civil Engineering and Tourism Management courses of the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC-Minas) to generate jobs and income in Bento Rodrigues (MG).
In total, seven proposals were presented within the multidisciplinary activity “The Tragedy of Bento Rodrigues Leading to Entrepreneurial Actions”, coordinated by professor Edmundo de Novaes Gomes. “The Renova Foundation welcomed us and facilitated contact with professionals and community representatives. It was a very rich experience. We left full of ideas”, said the professor.
The student Miraci Moreira da Silva is part of the group that proposed the creation of a community tourism agency. “Tourism is already occuring and our idea is to guide and empower the community to take advantage of this opportunity”, she explained. The activity allowed the students to experience some of our work routine.
