The Renova Foundation reports that it has filed the Consolidation of Human Health Risk Assessment Report (ARSH) in the Inter-Federative Committee (CIF) on September 23rd, which was elaborated based on research conducted in the city of Linhares (ES). The report indicates that there is no occurrence of metals associated with the collapse of the Fundão dam that could pose a toxicological risk to human health in the areas studied.
In order to conclude the studies, a detailed evaluation of the samples in which values were found to be above the reference values will be carried out. Overall, metals above the reference values were found in few of the samples, in isolated spots, and without correlation with the collapse of the Fundão dam. The completion of studies is also subject to technical assessments by public bodies. Considering the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the CIF, adequate disclosure should be given to studies as soon as the stages of technical evaluations are completed.
