Opportunities can be seen on the website of Sine Mariana and Recoloca Rio Doce, platform created to bring together companies and those affected who are looking for a job or professional qualification. To apply, interested parties must register their curriculum on the website. The registration of the curriculum does not guarantee hiring, but it is a requirement to compete for vacancies.
The selection process will be conducted by the construction companies and there will be no intervention by the Renova Foundation in the relationship between employer and employee. Valuing local labor is one of the Renova Foundation’s commitments to carry out reparation activities, as provided for in the Transaction and Conduct Adjustment Agreement (TTAC) and in the Mariana Agreement. Foundation suppliers also consider prioritizing local hiring to carry out their work.
Construction companies HTB and Andrade Gutierrez continue to work on the resettlements. The performance of new companies in the construction of communities allows for an increase in the performance of the works and, consequently, allows for a greater number of employment opportunities and greater movement of local businesses.
COVID-19
Currently, around 1,500 people work at the Bento Rodrigues resettlement construction site and approximately 770 in Paracatu de Baixo. Due to Covid-19, the number of employees in the field had to be reduced in order to minimize risks and preserve the safety of workers.
The new hires will be staggered over the course of the works and are approved by the Covid-19 Prevention Committee of the Renova Foundation, created with the purpose of daily analyzing the pandemic situation, proposing prevention actions for the population and direct workers and indirect. Even with the increase in the number of field workers, the effective remains less than 50% of the forecast for resettlement works.
The Renova Foundation also adopted safety measures for work in resettlements, such as mandatory use of masks, alcohol hand sanitizer, daily measurement of body temperature and daily filling out of the Health and Safety self-assessment form for Covid-19. 100% of the workers are tested and 50% of the workforce is retested every 20 days.
