The Brazilian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (ABES-MG) is a reference in the elaboration of technical norms and procedures regarding sanitation
On Wednesday, November 1, the Renova Foundation signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement with the Brazilian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (ABES-MG). With the agreement, ABES-MG will be able to assist Renova in developing solutions for the development of sanitation in the affected municipalities, aiming at improving the environment, health and quality of life of these communities.
ABES is a non-governmental, non-profit organization with a strong influence in the municipalities where the Renova Foundation acts, as it participates in several river basin committees and is a reference in the elaboration of technical standards and procedures related to sanitation.
According to Alex Castro, engineering leader, the signing of the agreement will allow intersections, synergies and complementarities between the experiences and technical-scientific knowledge of both institutions. The association will provide technical training, courses, seminars and training for employees of Renova and employees of the local governments in the affected municipalities.
“ABES’s performance is immediate, however, on demand, according to the needs of each front of Renova. We hope to contribute to the improvement of basic sanitation and public health in these communities to, above all, leave a sustainable and greater legacy than the mere provision of financial resources. We want to promote a transformation of culture and quality of life in these localities,” he says.
The team of the Sanitation Program, of the socio-environmental area of Renova, embraces this agreement with the expectation of joining efforts and expertise for the presented challenge.
